The Comenius experience so far (february 2015)
Before you enter a room you never know what to expect. At the first meeting in Gent the discussions started of only after a short time. It was clear that the people that had gathered was very dedicated to their work as school-leaders and teachers. What we had In common was the belief that music Is very important for our students, but In what way? Another mutual goal was to work in our schools towards inclusion and that we believed that music could be a tool to reach a point were all our pupils and students can feel included no matter what background or individual capacity.
We have visited each others schools in Belgium, Holland , Germany and Sweden. To see how they work in other countries has been very useful for us at Kulturama , Sweden. In one point of view we can see that we have things in our schools that we can be proud and thankful for, on the other hand we realize that there are things to learn from other countries and their way to organize for learning and inclusion. The time for reflection has opened up for new ways of thinking and we are sure that this project will have impact on us all during a long time.
